Experience with Kató
I grew up surrounded by the sound of strings and by the gentle insistence that music should bring joy, not tension. My father, Chet Porcino, taught violin with warmth, humor, and a commitment to expressive freedom.
I met Kató at the age of 13, and Chet’s close work with Kató Havas, my subsequent year long postgraduate study with Kató in Oxford, England, and my attendance at countless Havas Approach workshops has shaped my understanding of what it means to play with ease, balance, and imagination.  ‘ Kató’s influence continues to guide every aspect of my teaching and professional life.
